Network Effects

Traditional field service companies often benefit from a simpler operating model with fewer steps: schedule an appointment, perform the work on-site then collect payment. Organizations whose business model fit into that paradigm have plenty of software options available to them which not only handle logistics but also cover back-office activities such as marketing and accounting.

While there are many similarities between a photography company and field service organizations, the introduction of off-site tasks and media delivery adds a significant amount of overhead that cannot be automated or orchestrated through software.

Looking further into industries most served by photography we focus on verticals that align with our background and also present untapped revenue opportunities when considering the network effects of downstream consumers of media.

Real Estate Photography

It is our estimation that over $1B is spent annually on professional media for the sole purpose of marketing and selling a home. Every listing that is created inside a local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) must have photos in order to generate buyer interest and the provider of those services are uniquely positioned to influence each and every real estate transaction.

Most businesses who offer media services aren't equipped with the technology or know-how to offer products beyond the assets (eg: photos, videos, 3D walk-throughs) required to generate a listing. In addition, once a real estate agent has those assets in hand, they are often relying on another vendor to help them with down-stream marketing needs such as digital advertising, print and co-marketing initiatives.

Building a platform that can combine the marketing and logistics need of real estate photography companies, brokerages and agents allows for a reduction in operational waste, revenue expansion and the streamlining a fragmented market.
